It starts with this image: a complete mess of a dorm room, ramen containers everywhere, video games strewn about, and three guys staring blankly at a baby in a swaddling cloth. Not exactly a prank, but a "surprise" return from their friend, Ka Ka, who's been working in Australia. Wei Li, Da Pang, and Ya Ya, these guys are on the cusp of graduation and fretting about the future. Instead of job hunting, they’re suddenly thrown into "dad duty." This little guy, Doubao, he's a tiny force of nature. He can't speak, but his cries can turn the whole building upside down. He’s logic-defying, but forces these guys, who can barely take care of themselves, to figure out formula ratios and diaper changes. Then, there's Ka Ka. She's got secrets. Her sudden return and the baby's origins are like a thick fog hanging over this makeshift family. As Doubao grows, these guys, with no biological connection and completely different personalities, are forced together. Under this roof of milk-scented chaos, they're not just dealing with the trials of parenting, but also the skepticism of elders and the pressures of life. They just wanted to help a friend, but this unexpected life is subtly rewriting their story, pushing them from boys toward the edges of manhood.

This film reminds me of those ice-cold Ramune sodas you get on a hot summer afternoon, with that distinctly Taiwanese freshness and warmth. It's not trying to preach; it just focuses on that most confusing, youthful time of graduation. Watching Zhang Shuhao, Hao Shaowen, and Chen Datian as these hapless "dads" fumbling to soothe the baby is genuinely hilarious, but there's a certain raw feeling, too, that gets to you at some point. The real star is that mixed-race baby, Doubao. He's the soul of the film. Every single expression is just so adorable. Zhang Rongrong’s arrival is the real deal as well as she adds a stubbornly emotional undertone to this comedy, bringing to life a young mother torn between reality and ideals. And you can’t ignore the veteran actors like Chen Song-yong and Lin Meixiu. Just their presence evokes that everyday, community feel and the weight of family. This isn’t just a baby-sitting comedy. It feels like a coming-of-age ceremony for responsibility and growth. In a super lighthearted way, the film deals with a heavy topic: How do we face the unexpected in life? It shows us that family isn't just about blood. It's about that warmth of mutual support. Even if everyone started out "不太熟" (not quite familiar), they can still stumble and piece together the warmest of homes. If you're in a bit of a life-blur or you just want to see a heartwarming film that makes you laugh and cry, it's worth investing a couple of hours in the pure healing of this movie.
