This feeling of looseness is full of French charm. It doesn't rush to give you an answer but, instead, allows you to breathe in the taste of "time" within those long shots. What's most moving is the sense of overlap between fiction and reality. Watching the Garrel children support and hurt each other on screen, you feel as though you can penetrate the script and see a real artistic family's bloodline. Their persistence with puppetry is a tribute to a certain slower way of life.
