In the dusty streets of Jizhou, the snapping banners of the two great escort agencies represent more than just business; they represent a decades-old grudge and a mystery that refused to burn out with the temple fire. There's Fang Zheng of Fang Escort Agency, and Yan Han of Yan Escort Agency. Two children are born, and both are named Zhichun. One, Fang Zhichun, is a tomboyish, headstrong girl. The other, Yan Zhichun, is supposedly lost in a temple fire. The orphaned Yan Yichun, adopted by Yan Han, has a mystery that no one can place. Now imagine these families meeting, during the chaos of the late Qing/early Republic era—the clash of old ways and new ones.

This series is pure nostalgia, right? I am talking about those early 2000s Mainland dramas. Huang Yi, with her "Little Swallow" energy, is perfect as Fang Zhichun. Hu Bing is at his peak, handsome and brooding as Yan Yichun. And Bao Jianfeng? He brings the charm with Kang Le. Yang Wenjun is really good with pacing, visual storytelling, that mix of comedy and suspense. It's a lighthearted wuxia/action-comedy, with romance, mystery. A classic "childhood memory" drama. There's a chemistry that feels so "early 2000s". I think it captures that transition era. And most importantly, it's just plain fun. This is a solid "recommend-to-a-friend" kind of work.
