Compared to the older version, this one feels much fresher, more modern. I’m thinking the first one's drama was intense. Zhang Xueying gets the "cat-like" coldness of Xiamo just right. It's important to showcase her as a career-oriented, independent woman, not just a damsel. Qin Junjie makes Ou Chen so much more human, showing his vulnerability beneath the power. It's a visual treat, too. It has a cinematic feel, and I've got to highlight that. This goes beyond the romantic angst of the original; this version actually provides insight into the modern woman.
