You know, the opening scene I always remember is this: In the incense-filled, yet perilous Wulong Temple, this tiny little bald-headed kid is sitting there, chin in hand, looking worried. That's Kaixin. He's the current, youngest, and most troublesome abbot. It all starts with this crazy event. The old abbot vanishes with a legendary manual, the *Nine Yin Manual*, and the Imperial Preceptor, Ziwei Zhenren, is climbing up in power. Kaixin was supposed to be in peaceful meditation, but is instead roped into being 'uncle' to a street-smart rogue, Baida. These two together make such a duo. Before they've even finished causing chaos in the temple, they get a plea for help from the Empress. To stop the Imperial Preceptor's ambition, this kid is forced to go to the city. But, it's not riches he finds. It's deadly traps, and his martial arts gets severely injured by the Imperial Preceptor's plot.

Cao Jun's performance! He was just a natural, his cuteness and resolve as Happy Monk. I can still see his little round head bouncing around, and you can't help but laugh along with him, feel bad for him when he is in pain. Chen Tianwen as Baida...he was the comedic relief. He's a bit of a hustler, but he has true loyalty. It was this mix that gave the show that heart. The film blended traditional Chinese martial arts with humor. The "Twelve Bronze Men" were such intricate traps, and the political intrigue was perfect, mixed with martial arts. This isn't just a simple children's action flick.
