Imagine you're walking in Kamakura. You might see a kappa at the grocery store or a ghost catching a train – that’s the kind of vibe we're going for. It's a place where worlds overlap, a reality-fantasy hybrid. The focus here is definitely on Isshiki and Akiko's relationship. The film progresses from their marriage to the unique setting of Kamakura. Something happens – Akiko loses her body, and her soul is taken to the underworld. That's the turning point. I don't want to give away too much, but it’s about Isshiki's decision to go after her.

This film really is a whimsical fairy tale for adults. It takes a heavy topic like life and death and presents it in a very gentle way. The director, Yamazaki, uses his visual effects to create a breathtaking underworld. The architecture feels like a blend of different eras, a mix of old Shanghai and the dreamy aesthetic of Miyazaki's films. I love that the story creates a romantic feeling from the moment the old train runs on tracks under the starlit sky. The train represents a journey to the afterlife. The chemistry between Sakai and Takahata is just perfect. They portray a truly loving couple. Their love is not about grand gestures but about the everyday moments. The most powerful part of the film is its core message: love is strong. It can go through death, through different forms. The right person will always find you. I think it would be good to mention the cozy aesthetic, and the Ghibli feel, but in live-action. I'm aiming for warmth and whimsy. The design of the underworld feels really unique – maybe something inspired by the Chinese architecture, like Fenghuang Ancient City.
