In a world of blinding white that threatens to swallow all signs of life, only the heavy breaths struggle against the storm. Pam, played by Naomi Watts, is climbing alone on Mount Washington, known as the "world's most inclement" mountain ridge. This was supposed to be a solitary trek for self-healing, but fate clearly had other plans. As the temperature plummets and the vision is shattered by the wind into a chaotic blur, she unexpectedly sees a pair of very incongruous sneaker footprints in the knee-deep snow. Following these almost suicidal tracks, she finds a man curled up in a rock crevice, out of his mind. No professional equipment, no will to survive; the man is like a shadow waiting to melt in the ice and snow. Pam faces an almost impossible task: before nightfall, to escape from the grip of death with this unresponsive burden. This is not the Hollywood-style hero rescuing beauty, but a desperate struggle repeatedly dancing on the edge of hypothermia. As the two stumble through the submerged snow, the storm is no longer just a natural disaster, but more like a judge who constantly questions the soul. Why does Pam risk her life to save a stranger? And what secrets does this man, who is intent on seeking death, hide? Now, the review... Let's steer clear of the action movie clichés. We need to go deeper. Focus on the internal "storm." It’s about grief, I think. Watts carries the film. It's subtle, intense.

If you're expecting a commercial disaster film that will get your adrenaline pumping, this movie might surprise you. It's more like a requiem for the lonely, cold, restrained, but it reveals a burning temperature in the smallest details. Director Małgorzata Szumowska focuses the camera on people's instincts in extreme environments. That almost sacred sense of redemption is not conveyed through the lines, but through Naomi Watts' face, which is frozen red and covered in frost. Naomi Watts' performance once again proves her top-notch skills in handling complex emotions. Pam, whom she plays, is not only fighting the wind and snow, but also talking to her own inner trauma. The most wonderful part of the movie is that it neither demonizes nature nor heroizes the protagonist. The storm called "Infinite" is both the adverse weather from the outside and the irrepressible cry in everyone's heart. The use of a large area of blank space and the sound of wind in the film makes the audience seem to be in that isolated mountain, feeling the fear of the body temperature gradually being lost. This minimalist narrative approach makes the final warmth especially precious. It tells us that sometimes saving others is actually picking up the broken self. This is not just a movie about survival, but also a life revelation about how to keep going with scars.
